Adams Jr. Earns Back-To-Back CFL Player Of The Week Honours
Calgary Stampeders quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. has been named a Canadian Football League Player of the Week after a second consecutive stellar performance.
This is also the third time overall this year that Adams has received the nod.
In Friday’s road win against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Adams went 22-of-29 and threw four touchdowns – including the 150th of this career – to four different receivers. He also added 21 yards on two carries which included a key second-down conversion for 15 yards. Adams did not concede a sack in the 37-31 victory.
The 10-year pro has now completed 78 per cent of his passes for 664 yards and seven TDs over his past two games.
Through 15 appearances in 2026, Adams has been good on 279 of his 429 pass attempts with 34 majors and five interceptions. His passing-touchdown total is a single-season career high. In addition, the signal-caller has scampered 39 times for 322 yards and three more touchdowns.
The three Player of the Week selections are made by a panel composed of representatives from the CFL’s Football Operations, Player and Game Statistics and Content departments.
