Vernon Adams Jr. Recognized As CFL Player Of The Week
Calgary Stampeders quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. has been named a Player of the Week by the Canadian Football League after his outing in Ottawa last Saturday.
This is the second time this season the CFL has honoured him as a Player of the Week.
Adams completed 80 per cent of his passes (24 of 30 attempts) in Week 17 and finished with 422 yards through the air. The yardage total was his season-high to date as well as his second 400-yard performance of the year. The Pasadena, Calif., native and former Oregon Duck threw three touchdowns to three different pass-catchers and had a trio of receivers each tally over 100 receiving yards. Adams also was not intercepted against the Redblacks.
Through 14 games in 2026, Adams has gone 257-of-400 for 3,683 yards and 30 touchdowns with five interceptions. He has added 37 carries for 301 yards and three scores on the ground.
For his career, Adams has 1,690 completions in 2,619 attempts for 24,120 yards with 147 touchdowns and 73 interceptions, plus 382 rushes for 2,277 yards and 29 TDs.
The three Player of the Week selections are made by a panel composed of representatives from the CFL’s Football Operations, Player and Game Statistics and Content departments.
